About us
Your medical history shouldn'thave to be retold.
We are building Medbook to turn scattered medical documents into one organised, lasting record – and to turn that record into a prepared visit for patient and doctor.
Why Medbook
From available data to a prepared visit
A person's medical information is rarely in one place. Some of it is in NZIS, the national health information system; the rest is in discharge letters, outpatient records, lab results, PDFs, photos and old paper documents. At every new consultation the patient retells their history, and the doctor spends part of the visit piecing it together.
The problem isn't only storage. Even when everything is available electronically, the questions remain: what is current, what has changed, and how does it relate to this specialty? That step – from available data to prepared information – is why we are building Medbook.
We want the record to build up over time and be reused across different doctors: the patient doesn't start from scratch, the GP can follow up more easily, and the specialist begins the visit with the context already prepared.
Principles
How we work
Six principles that shape every product decision.
The record belongs to the patient
Patients own their record, decide who to share it with, and can use it with every doctor they see next.
The original is the source of truth
Every fact in the record leads back to the document it came from. Originals are never altered.
The doctor decides
Medbook prepares the information. Medical assessment and decisions stay with the doctor.
Privacy by design
We are designing the platform with EU/EEA hosting, encryption, access per visit, and no model training on patient data.
Alongside existing systems
Medbook doesn't replace NZIS or the doctor's medical software. It complements them.
Step by step
First a reliable product and a proven way of working with a few doctors, then new specialties, integrations and regions.
The team
The people behind Medbook
Medical experience and technology in one team. Nephrology is the first specialty we are developing because the team has direct expertise in it.

Where we start
The Plovdiv region, three specialties
We are starting locally and with a few doctors, so that we build a product that genuinely helps in day-to-day work before we expand.
- Region: Plovdiv
- First specialties: nephrology, endocrinology and cardiology
- GPs take part free of charge as the coordinating link
- A pilot with 3–5 doctors in the Design Partner programme
- Then early access for patients
- New specialties and regions once the way of working is proven
Let's talk
If you are a doctor in the Plovdiv region, apply for the Design Partner programme. For anything else, write to us.
